Mauro Kuxyipijy Delgado Díaz was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1991. He began studying trumpet when he was eight at CECAM, a municipal school of music in Oaxaca, México. He moved to Mexico City and continued his studies at Ollin Yollistly, a School of Dance and Music, where he studied trumpet with Alexander Freund and Armando Cedillo. He has been in courses and seminars with Antoine Cure, Pierre Dutot, Frits Damrow, Freed Mills, John Nelson, Brian McWhorter, Pacho Flores, Jens Lindeman, Alison Balsom, Eric Aubier and Favio Brum.
At the age of 19 he entered to Bordeaux Conservatoire having as his teachers Jean Françoise Dion and Jean Pierre Duffau, where he obtained his Diplôme d’études Musicales. In 2012 he was accepted for the master at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where he graduated with honors in 2015. He was finalist in the International Brass Competition 2015 hold in Costa Rica. In 2016 won the first prize in the competition of the Mérida International Brass Festival in the Trumpet Competition and in the Brass Competition. He obtained first prize in the Cancun International Trumpet Competition, a contest that receives trumpet players from all over the world, having as his jury Arturo Sandoval.
He has played in many Mexican Orchestras like Carlos Chávez, Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Orquesta Filarmónica de Chihuahua , Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería , Orquesta Estanislao Mejía de la Facultad De Música UNAM , Orquesta Sinfónica de Sinaloa, Filarmónica de la ciudad de México, Orquesta Filármonica de la UNAM, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato, Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México and Orquesta Filármonica de Jalisco. In France with the Paris Opera Orchestra, Orchestre PasDeLoup and Philarmonie de Jeunes. As a soloist Mauro Kuxy has appearead with Camerata de Mazatlán, Orquesta Filarmónica de Yucatán, Orquesta Sinfónica de Morelia and sharing recitals with Horacio Franco and Hector Infanzón. He participated as a teacher in the International Trumpet Camp in Monterrey, Mexico and in the National Week Mexican Trumpet in 2018. Recently he participated in the second version of the Latin American Trumpet Contest Eric Aubier, in Colombia where he obtained the third place, being in the Jury maestros Eric Aubier and Pacho Flores.
